forming ecology
Body Remedy is hosting our fourth forming ecology day event at Cove Park (Helensburgh) on Saturday 3rd October.
The event unfolds as a curated programme of movement, tea ceremony, guided walk, and listening, working with artists and practitioners to deliver what is often remarked as an unforgettable and deeply nourishing experience.
It is important to us that this gathering takes place in a rural setting, bringing community formation into conversation with the landscape. Time together moves gently, with lots of space for creative play, wandering and quiet.
Deadline: 11th September, 5pm.
Due to the popularity of the event, attendees will be selected at random by an auto-generated lottery system. You will be notified of the outcome via your contact details provided.
In summary, forming ecology this year would include:
A movement & sound session
A tea ceremony
A guided walk
Listening session
Body Remedy Annual Review
Return coach service from Glasgow (Additional travel can be covered on a case-by-case basis)
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
This day event is free and limited in spaces available. More information will be shared once attendees are selected.
Overview of the day
-
Movement & Sound Session
Led by Ofe, this is a unique, mat-based Pilates experience designed to deepen your understanding of movement, breath and body awareness. The one-hour session will be accompanied by live music from percussionist Kira Africa, using the Tongue drum to guide the movement and deepen the sensations of the body.
The workshop is mat-based, with no additional equipment required.
-
Tea Ceremony
A two-hour sensory experience inviting you to slow down, soften and reconnect with the body through herbalism, gentle movement, storytelling and sound.
Satya will be exploring the soothing qualities of fresh Scottish herbs through a relaxed tea ceremony, alongside slow, intuitive micro-movements inspired by the natural ways we lounge and unwind. Satya will weave together ideas of slow evolution, ancestry and our innate inner compass, drawing on Scotland’s geological origins.
The second half moves into deep rest and sound, led by Roxanne through a vocal and sound bath. A genuine invitation into stillness, allowing the sound to exist on its own terms and respond to the atmosphere in the room.
The space will be softly held with low warm lighting, rugs, blankets, and yoga mats, creating a cosy environment for lounging.
-
Guided Walk
Guided by Anesu, this hour-long nature walk will explore how we relate to place, climate and the knowledge held within our bodies and landscapes. The session will unfold through a series of intentional pauses and facilitated pit stops, inviting participants to slow down, notice their surroundings and engage with ancestral, historical and embodied forms of knowledge.
The walk is rooted in an anti-colonial approach to climate learning, creating space to question whose knowledge is valued, how knowledge is shared, and what it means to learn from place without treating people or landscapes as objects of study.
-
Body Remedy: Annual Review 2026
Led by the existing co-directors Żżo Charlery and Kai Khidir Hassan, this is an invitation for our stakeholders to engage with our reflections emerging from our 2026 programme. We will explore the particular ways we have been organising and collaborating this year, making space for dialogue about where we are now and what we look forward to.
-
Drum Closing
We shall close the day with Kira in a 30-minute grounding drum ceremony, offering space to pause, settle and gently transition out of the experience. Through a solo percussion performance, Kira will create an immersive soundscape designed to release the energy of the day and make space to simply be.

About forming ecology
forming ecology is our annual gathering at Cove Park, which brings together the full breadth of our stakeholders. Team members, participants, community members, artists, facilitators and our advisory and research groups all gather across the event, each holding a relationship to the organisation that this time is designed to honour and deepen.
The event intentionally shares its name with how we describe ourselves, as a (forming) ecology, and this gathering is where our modelling vision is most apparent. At the end of a year of programme forming ecology organises as rooted sense of return, weaving all components of our activity into a cohesive experience of creation, remembrance with the intimacy of imagining and co-designing our conditions.
