Our annual programme of Music & Movement returns in 2026.

semente is a two day event taking place on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August 2026 across two sites: RESET and The Work Room at Tramway. This constellation brings together seeded collaborations in the form of movement workshops and sonic sessions, alongside guided pilates, seated massage, a community meal and reflective artist talks.

Featuring Laura Osa, Kassichana Okene-Jameson, Kira Africa, Valeska Andrews, Ethelinda Lashley, Ankna Arockiam, aiiTee, Pik Kei Wong, Precious, Najma Hussein Abukar and Kai Khidir.

semente is a programme for Black and Brown women and gender variant folk.

All sessions are free and open level, all venues are wheelchair accessible, and places must be booked online.

  • Channelling Vibrations Kira Africa and Kassichana Okene-Jameson

    Explore rhythm, movement and creative expression through an interactive workshop led by Kassichana and Kira. Drawing on African percussion, improvisation and embodied movement practices, this session invites participants to listen, respond and connect through sound, sensation and collective exploration. Expect live rhythm, guided movement exercises and opportunities for joyful participation.

    This is a participatory workshop inviting curiosity, exploration and active engagement with both movement and sound.

  • Remedies of Acoustic Encounter // A performance and listening session

    Featuring performances by Ankna and aiiTee, and Laura and Precious, this evening of live music celebrates collaboration, experimentation and creative exchange. Bringing together long-standing artistic relationships and new creative encounters, these intimate sharings invite audiences into evolving processes through original works, existing repertoire and newly explored material.

  • Eased Roots: Pilates with Ethelinda Lashley

    Join Ethelinda Lashley for a Pilates session designed to support strength, alignment and ease within the body. Rooted in principles of breath, control and mindful movement, this open level workshop offers space to reconnect, restore and cultivate greater awareness through gentle yet energising exercises.

  • A Touching Treatment: Seated Massage with Valeska Andrews

    Date: Sunday 2nd August

    Take a moment to pause, rest and receive care through a short seated massage with Valeska. Drawing on her experience across performance, community and therapeutic settings, Valeska offers accessible, clothed treatments designed to release tension, support relaxation and reconnect participants with their bodies.

    Six fifteen minute seated massage appointments are available throughout the afternoon. Treatments are fully clothed and offer a restorative moment of care, relaxation and grounding within the programme.

  • Community Meal: Soil for Seed with an Artist Talk: Najma Hussein Abukar in conversation with Kai Khidir

    Held within the meal, Najma Hussein Abukar joins Kai Khidir in conversation, reflecting on the prompt of the seed and the many changes and adaptations that occur throughout an artist's creative and living practice: the shedding, dormancy and regrowth that shape a life in art.

    All are welcome to stay, share food and linger. Please book in advance and note any dietary requirements when doing so.
